Outreach Programs

Drop-In Centers

SSDC operates two drop-in centers — one in Federal Way and one in Auburn — that provide homeless individuals and families a place to find a helping hand and a listening ear. The drop-in centers assist with basic needs such as computer access for job hunting, free phone calls, a place to do laundry, mail boxes, showers, food, and more. Check our calendar for days/hours of operation as well as maps to our two locations.

Adopt-A-Block

Through the Adopt-a-Block program, SSDC volunteers and partner churches deliver hundreds of lunches and bags of groceries every week to families in need. SSDC outreach teams also identify practical and spiritual needs as they interact with youth and families served and offer assistance in these areas.

Metro Kidz

Metro-Kidz is a children’s after school Bible club, offering games, stories, activities, and mentorship to young children. Each week, SSDC interacts with hundreds of at-risk, elementary-age children in Federal Way and Auburn through their Metro-Kidz program.

Dreams 2 Reality

SSDC’s Dreams 2 Reality program reaches out to at-risk youth in the community, especially those facing an environment and lifestyle of violence. The program works directly with youth and young adults, ages 8-24, to provide mentoring, life skills training, pro-social activities, and a greater connection to their community.

Family Food

Through our Family Food program, families in need of extra food assistance can apply to receive five bags full of groceries every three months. Call our office at 253-288-1806 for more details.

Hand-in-Hand

The Hand-in-Hand Child Sponsorship program at SSDC offers community members the opportunity to sponsor a child in their own area for $30/month.  SSDC works with their Metro Kidz Outreach to identify these children.
