Rick Cameron: Executive Director
Rick Cameron’s passion and vision bring both direction and momentum to the South Sound Dream Center’s efforts. Since he and co-founder Roy Andresen started SSDC in 2006, Rick has built strong relationships with city officials, local pastors and ministers, a wide network of volunteers, and community members throughout the South Sound region.
Rick is an ordained minister who has served as a youth pastor, outreach director, and intern director at local churches in the South Sound region. Rick and his wife are also successful business owners of a local automotive part and repair business which has helped to support many community initiatives over the past decade. Rick developed and ran an at-risk youth program for three years which received a $20,000 grant from Capitol One Bank and was eventually adopted by the Boys and Girls Club of Federal Way because of its success in engaging at-risk youth. He has taught more than 1000 kids to swim at the YMCA, and was recently voted as Volunteer of the Year for all of the South Seattle Boys and Girls Clubs.
Rick is a husband and father of two successful adult sons.
Kara Sanders: Deputy Director
As Deputy Director, Kara Sanders’ role is to help strengthen the SSDC’s ability to execute its vision, both through its organizational capacity and through the administration of each of the SSDC’s ministry programs.
To this role, Kara brings over 10 years of experience serving low-income and disadvantaged youth and families. Prior to her position as Deputy Director at SSDC, Kara worked as Network Coordinator for The Mockingbird Society and was an Outreach Worker and House Mentor at Northwest Foursquare Church. In each of these positions, as well as in her personal life, Kara has served as a mentor for many youth and young adults who have come out of the juvenile detention system, including training and mentorship in vocational and life skills. With a BA in Business, Kara has utilized her organizational skills to serve and strengthen the organizations she has worked for to reach at-risk children and families.
Kara is a wife and a mother to her daughter.
Natalie Robles-Rankin: Program Assistant
Natalie joined the South Sound Dream Center in 2011 as Program Assistant, bringing an array of administrative and support skills to the SSDC team. Having worked in various ministries and as an AmeriCorps member during the last 10 years, Natalie has built valuable experience in event coordination, publication design, and program administration.
Previously a long-time volunteer with SSDC, Natalie’s passion for our outreach efforts assists her in working with the SSDC’s large network of volunteers and partner organizations. Natalie and her husband live in the South Sound region.
